Summary: Provides 2-phase constant frequency, current mode boost, and wide input voltage range of 3V to 40V.
Analog Devices LT8277 multiphase boost DC/DC controller provides 2-phase constant frequency, current mode boost and a wide 3V to 40V input voltage range. The SEPIC controller is designed to drive n-channel power mosfets. The two-phase interleaving feature reduces system filter capacitor requirements. The internal LDO regulator draws power from V(IN) or V(OUT) to provide the 5V supply to the gate driver. Fixed frequency, current mode architecture results in stable operation over a wide range of supply/output voltages. The operating frequency of the LT8277 can be programmed from 100kHz to 2MHz with external resistors or can be synchronized to an external clock using the SYNC pin. The CLKOUT and SYNC pins allow multiple LT8277 devices to perform together, facilitating 4-phase or 8-phase operation.
The ADI LT8277 sets the output voltage range from 9V to 60V through the SPI interface. A window comparator on the V(OUT) pin reports through the PGOOD pin, providing an indication of the output voltage status.
The LT8277 is packaged in a 20-pin 3mm x 4mm side-solderable QFN package.
