Summary: These drives are designed for three-phase brushless DC motor (BLDC) applications.
Texas Instruments DRV8334 integrated smart gate driver is designed for three-phase brushless DC applications. The device provides three half-bridge gate drivers, each capable of driving high-side and low-side n-channel power MOSFETs. The DRV8334 uses an integrated bootstrap diode and GVDD charge pump to generate the correct gate drive voltage. The smart gate drive architecture supports configurable peak gate drive current from 0.7mA to 1A source and 2A sink. The DRV8334 can operate from a single supply and has a wide input range of 4.5V to 60V. The trickle charge pump allows the gate driver to support 100% PWM duty cycle control and provides overspeed gate drive voltage to external switches.
Texas Instruments DRV8334 provides a low-side current sense amplifier that supports resistor-based low-side current sensing. The amplifier's low offset enables the system to obtain accurate motor current measurements. The DRV8334 integrates extensive diagnostic and protection features, enabling robust motor drive system designs and helping to eliminate the need for external components. Highly configurable device response allows the device to be seamlessly integrated into a variety of system designs.
