Summary: Monolithic Power Systems' MA782 angle sensor detects the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet and comes in a 2mm x 2mm QFN-14 package.
Monolithic Power Systems' MA782 angle sensor detects the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet (usually a diameter magnetized cylinder on a rotating axis). With its power cycling capability, the sensor is optimized for applications requiring low average power. Timing can be controlled by an on-chip clock or an external controller. Flags can be used to detect definable amounts of angle change. The MA782 supports a wide range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations. Both end-of-shaft and off-axis (sideshaft) mounting configurations are supported. The MA782 features magnetic field strength detection with programmable thresholds to detect the magnet position relative to the sensor for functions such as axial motion sensing or diagnostics. On-chip non-volatile memory (NVM) provides storage for configuration parameters, including reference zero angle position, power cycle parameters, filter windows that affect output resolution, and magnetic field detection thresholds. The MA782 is available in a 2mm x 2mm QFN-14 package.
