Summary: 2.7V to 26V, 2.7 milliohm and 18A integrated hot-swap efes with current monitor and blocking FET driver.

TPS25983 Texas Instruments

Texas Instruments TPS25983 hot-swappable eFuses are highly integrated circuit protection and power management devices in small packages. These fuses operate over a wide input voltage range of 2.7V to 26V and provide strong protection against overloads, short circuits, voltage surges, reverse current and excessive inrush current. The overcurrent limit threshold can be set with a single external resistor, and overvoltage events are limited by an internal cutoff circuit with a user-adjustable overvoltage threshold. Typical applications include power multiplexing, hot plugging, hot plugging, PCIe risers, add-in cards, router/switch optical module protection, industrial PCs and wireless power tool chargers.

These devices intelligently manage overcurrent response by distinguishing transient events from actual faults. This allows the system to operate uninterrupted during line and load transients without compromising the robustness of protection against faults. The TPS25983 hot-swap fuse is available in a small 4mm × 4mm QFN package and is characterized by operation over a -40°C to 125°C junction temperature range.
