Summary: Monolithic synchronous driver operates over 5.5V to 36V input voltage range and 40V tolerance.
The Texas Instruments TPS92642-Q1 infrared LED driver is a monolithic synchronous driver that operates over a 5.5V to 36V input voltage range and 40V tolerance. The device features adaptive on-time control with a nearly constant switching frequency set between 100kHz and 2.2MHz. The TPS92642-Q1 high-performance LED driver can independently modulate LED current using analog or PWM dimming techniques. The driver contains an internal pulse monitoring circuit that limits the maximum pulse duty cycle. The TPS92642-Q1 device is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications. The TPS92642-Q1 LED driver is used to drive supervisory control systems (DMS), infrared LEDs and laser drivers.
The TPS92642-Q1 IR LED driver features advanced diagnostics and fault protection with cycle-by-cycle switching current limit, bootstrap undervoltage, LED on, LED short circuit and thermal shutdown. This driver is suitable for implementing buck LED driver topologies.
