onsemi NCL30159 LLC converter controller provides wide dimming range operation over wide output conditions over a frequency range up to 750kHz. The NCL30159 Inductor Capacitor (LLC) is a primary-side current mode controller with high efficiency in standby, open string protection and dedicated start-up. The converter controller provides high-voltage start-up and brown-out detection, which greatly simplifies power supply or LED string driver design. The NCL30159 controller allows maximum power limiting functionality. Analog dimming capability combined with PWM dimming is used to design window LED drivers and control the total luminous flux of the LED string.
The converter controller is available in an SOIC-16 package and integrates a half-bridge output driver with primary current sensing. The
controller is suitable for lighting applications with minimal external components. Typical applications include window (CP) LED drivers, dimmable LED drivers, low-cost high-efficiency LED lighting, electric vehicle battery chargers and television power supplies.
