Summary: Provides 4A peak source and 6A peak sink current to drive power MOSFET, SiC, GaN and IGBT transistors.

UCC21550 Texas Instruments

The Texas Instruments UCC21550 dual-channel gate driver is an isolated driver with programmable dead time and a wide -40°C to 150°C temperature range. These gate drivers are designed with 4A peak source and 6A peak sink current to drive power MOSFET, SiC, GaN and IGBT transistors. The UCC21550 driver is an opto-isolated gate driver that can be configured as two low-side drivers, two high-side drivers, or as a half-bridge driver. The input side is isolated from the two output drivers by a 5kV (RMS) isolation barrier with a minimum common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 125V/ns. These gate drivers are ideal for onboard battery chargers, high voltage DC-DC converters, automotive HVAC and body electronics.

Protection features of the UCC21550 driver include resistor-programmable dead time, a disable function that turns off both outputs simultaneously, and an integrated de-fault filter that rejects input transients shorter than 5ns. These gate drivers achieve high efficiency, high power density and robustness in a variety of applications.
